Club captains announced!

Aldershot Town are delighted to announce that Kiki Oshilaja and Michael Stickland have been chosen as joint club captains ahead of the 2026/27 season.

With just three days to go until the new Enterprise National League campaign gets underway, Scott Davies has disclosed that the responsibility of captain will be shared equally by his central defensive pair, as opposed to the traditional first and vice roles.

The duo are no stranger to leadership, with Oshilaja leading his side out on numerous occasions for Cray Valley and Slough Town respectively, while Aldershot local Stickland first captained Reading Under 21s from the age of just 17.

Foreshadowed during our recent 2-1 victory at Braintree Town, the two would both enjoy spells donning the armband across the 90, particularly Stickland, who grabbed the game's late winner as skipper.

Sharing the responsibility between the two, Scott Davies had this to say on an unorthodox but assured decision to name his co-captains:

"Usually I pick a captain and two vice-captains but this year I wanted to do something different. Kiki has captained my previous team and did it excellently, whilst Stickers being born and bred in Aldershot is a great story.

"Both being new to the group, I felt as though sharing the responsibility would allow them to shoulder the workload between one another.

"An armband to me is an honour but it’s been made abundantly clear that we need everyone to be a leader on the pitch come match day.

"Kiki for sure is a big part of the togetherness within the camp, and when not seen he can definitely be heard around the training ground. Stickers for me at 22 is a born leader in the way in which he conducts himself, so to have them in a dual role like this is perfect for me and I’m sure will work brilliantly for them also."
