Hemel Storm are pleased to confirm Jovan Rai will remain at the club for his second season in Hertfordshire.

He joins Sam Newman, Kai Walker and Brayden Inger in returning to the StormDome, after an encouraging first term last time out.

The youngster broke into the rotation and caught the eye with his all-around scoring ability, confident in driving to the basket as well as shooting from long range.

He will continue his studies with our partner, the University of Hertfordshire, and suit up for them throughout their BUCS campaign.

“I’m excited to be back for a second season with Hemel,” Rai said.

“The fans and community make this club truly special, and I can’t wait to get back on the court.”

The Canadian-born guard settled into life at Storm seamlessly, seen as a bright prospect for the years to come.

His brother, Aaryn, played for the club in the 2022/23 campaign, and now resides south-east of Hertfordshire in the capital, with the SLB’s London Lions.

Head Coach Tom Baker added: “Jovan is an exciting young guard who gives us another strong link between the University of Hertfordshire and Storm.

“He has good instincts, plays with pace and has plenty of development ahead of him. We see this as a great opportunity within both programmes.”
