Portishead Town is delighted to announce the arrival of experienced goalkeeper James Smallcombe ahead of the 2026/27 season.

James arrives at Bristol Road with a wealth of experience, having made over 350 appearances for Undy in the Cymru South across a remarkable ten-year spell. He then joined Cinderford Town, helping the club secure promotion via the Hellenic League play-offs before competing in the Southern League. Most recently, James was part of the Paulton Rovers side that won promotion through the Western League play-offs last season.

His experience, leadership and winning mentality will be a huge asset to the squad as we prepare for the new campaign.

Speaking after his arrival, James said:

"Really happy to be signing. After talking to Mounts and hearing the plans both on and off the pitch, it made my decision an easy one. I'm looking forward to playing my part in getting the club back to the Southern League."
