It’s time for the Worcestershire FA Sunday Women’s Cup Final

On Sunday lunchtime, City have an opportunity to win the Worcestershire FA County Cup for the second time in three seasons, as they lock horns with tier five side, Redditch Borough.

Last time out

City were punished for their missed first-half chances, as Northampton Town left Sixways with a 3-1 win in Worcester’s final home game of the 2025/2026 season. Maia Clark put City ahead ten minutes after the break, but City were immediately pegged back, and with the momentum on the visitors’ side, they scored another two to take home the three points.

Redditch Borough were in FA West Midlands Regional League Premier Division action as they looked to put the pressure on top of the table Lye Town and came away convincing 4-1 winners at Alvechurch.

This season

City currently sit in sixth position in the FA Women’s National League Division One Midlands table on 32 points with one league game remaining; however, Sheffield FC have two games in hand before the final round of fixtures on Sunday, 26th April.

City’s opponents, Redditch Borough, sit in second place in the FA West Midlands Regional League Premier Division table, fourteen points behind runaway leaders, Lye Town, but they do have a staggering four games in hand.

Route to the final

City entered the Worcestershire FA Sunday Women’s Cup at the quarter-final stage and advanced to the semi-Finals following a 5-1 win at Bromsgrove Sporting, thanks to goals from Jess Fassnidge and a brace each from Keeley Crew and game-changer Annie Sime.

Worcester were drawn to face local rivals Kidderminster Harriers at Sixways in the semi-finals for the second season running, and City atoned for their exit 12 months ago by defeating Harriers 3-2, thanks to a brace from striker Maia Clark and a 93rd-minute winner from Evie Billingsley to set up their cup final showdown on Sunday.

Redditch Borough also entered the competition at the quarter-final stage, defeating Droitwich Spa 8-0 away from home to set up a semi-final home clash against Worcester Lionesses, which they won 5-0 to advance to Sunday’s showpiece.
