Match Preview | WCWFC Vs Kidderminster Harriers

Worcester City Women FC | 28 October 2025 | Copy link

It’s an evening under the Sixways lights for City on Wednesday as FA Women’s National League Action resumes.

Kidderminster Harriers

Harriers are managed by Andy Fisher, who led the side to a historic league and cup double last season.

They play their home games at Droitwich Spa Football Club whilst works are underway at the Centre of Sporting Excellence.

Harriers clinched the West Midlands Regional League Premier Division by finishing two points ahead of fellow title contenders Lye Town to reach the FA Women’s National League (FA WNL) for the first time in the club's history.

They won the FA Worcestershire County Cup by beating Worcester City Women Reserves 6-0 at Claines Lane.

Last time out

City advanced to the Second Round Proper of the Adobe Women’s FA Cup after securing a late winner in the Potteries against Port Vale.

City started the game on the front foot, but a resolute Port Vale kept City at bay, but the hosts saw themselves down to ten players after their goalkeeper was sent off after bringing down Maia Clark as she only had the goal to beat.

Ten minutes later, City took a deserved lead when a Kaye Haggett corner was headed home by Nyah Edwards to score her second goal in a week.

Just before the hour mark, Port Vale were on level terms after a long-range effort flew past Jodie Whiteman in the City net as the ten players were taking the game to Worcester, who were struggling to get a foothold in the game.

Game changer Jasmin Springer ensured City’s passage to the next round in dramatic fashion, as she calmly slotted home after a fantastic through ball by Haggett, who ensured her second assist of the game.

Kidderminster Harriers also ensured their progress to the Adobe Women’s FA Cup Second Round Proper after defeating Redditch Borough 1-0 in Droitwich, thanks to a 38th-minute strike from Olivia Woolston.

Previous meeting

Back in September, when the two sides last met, City welcomed Harriers to Sixways and came away 2-0 winners in the FA Women’s National League Cup after a dominant display which saw City strike twice in the second half after a rocket from captain Jessica Fassnidge and a Carys Lowley header from close range.
