On Friday 17th October, Worcester City Women FC in the Community proudly hosted a Charity 6-a-Side Tournament at Perdiswell Leisure Centre, bringing together local players, partners, and supporters for an evening of football and fundraising - all in aid of the Worcestershire Breast Unit Haven.

The event was a fantastic success, with 56 community members taking part, representing teams from the club’s popular Kick & Mix sessions, local businesses, and even a WCWFC staff team. Principal Partner, GLP Training took home the trophy, after finishing joint top with SouthCo and winning on penalties. Together, the participants raised an incredible £280 for Worcestershire Breast Unit Haven - a local charity providing vital care, support, and resources to those affected by breast cancer across the region.

The tournament embodied everything Worcester City Women FC in the Community stands for: connection, empowerment, and using football as a force for good.

A huge shoutout and heartfelt thanks go to Cerys Dolloway, WCWFC Vice Captain and Community Lead, who organised and led the tournament.

Speaking after the event, Cerys said:

“It was amazing to see so many people come together for a great cause. Everyone played with smiles on their faces, and the sense of community spirit was incredible. I’m really proud of what we achieved together. Also a huge thanks to Shona, Jenn and Charlotte who helped out on the night, along with some other community members refereeing too!”

Through initiatives like WCWFC in the Community, the club continues to make a tangible difference off the pitch - using football to unite people, promote wellbeing, and support important local causes.
