Ja-Rules as ace hits another brace

Jaheim Kamara scored his second double in as many games as Ascot United beat Raynes Park Vale 4-2 in the Velocity League Cup 2nd round on Tuesday. Kamara, who would later be named supporters’ man-of-the-match, found the net alongside Luis Le Paih and Lamin Ceesay as Gavin Smith’s side maintained their perfect home record.

The game was only six minutes old when Le Paih ghosted in unmarked at the back post to side-foot home his side’s opener.

In a decent game, the visitors pressed and found the side-netting midway through the half, before Khalid Simmo tested visiting ‘keeper Will Davis. However his side extended their lead two minutes before the break when Kamara (pictured celebrating, shooting-stars.co.uk) nipped in to coolly slot home after Le Paih’s shot was blocked.

But the visitors cut the deficit soon after the restart when David Adewoju nodded home a rebound after Kie Plumley had saved, before parity was restored in the 50th minute through another effort nodded home; this time by Juevan Spencer.

Vale then had a goal ruled out for offside as they looked to capitalise on their momentum.

But soon after coming on as a substitute, Ceesay would restore the hosts’ lead when raced onto a long ball forward, touched it past the oncoming Davis and slotted into an empty net.

And, Kamara capped a fine few days by creating a yard of space before rifling past Davis to make it 4-2 with twelve minutes remaining.

George Lock came off the bench late-on for a welcome return from injury; all-in-all a good night for the home side who recorded their fifth home win out of five.
