Ascot United are in Isuzu FA Trophy action on Friday evening when Three Bridges visit The Racecourse (7.45pm).

Our online-only matchday programme, with the view of Rob, Gavin and David Burton – plus the editor – is here. Tickets are here, including the beer/burger/entry hat-trick deal.

‘The Bridges’ have won two of their opening three Isthmian League South East Division games and beat Marlow in the last round of the FA Trophy; Ascot entering at this stage of the competition.

Then, on Sunday, Ascot United Women are in league cup group stage action at Bournemouth Sports having drawn their opening game in the competition 0-0 a few weeks ago.

Match report will follow following Friday’s game but coverage on Sunday will be limited to a remote update!

In this week’s programme, U18’s manager Dave Burton looks at his side’s midweek FA Youth Cup defeat – a night when his goalkeeper was sent off after just 15 seconds – but this followed last weekend’s high scoring friendly win at Esher and Walton. Here’s what he had to say about that game:

“A terrific performance today – no matter how many goals we’d have scored.

The passages of play, set pieces, and our shape in and out of possession are exactly what we’ve been working so hard on in pre-season, and it showed.

We were stronger than Esher all over the pitch, with fitness levels miles ahead of their lads. They looked like a group of individuals, whereas we looked like a Team. You could even tell that from the warm-up. Our team spirit and camaraderie will carry us a long way this season. Football has to be enjoyable and in an enjoyable environment or it’s pointless. You all seemed to enjoy it today.

The atmosphere in the changing room, and the general buzz around the group, is a pleasure to see – so positive, supportive, and welcoming to everyone.

It’s been an excellent pre-season with everyone playing their part.”

You’re up to date!
