FA Women's National League action returns to Sixways for the first time this season this Sunday! 

Last Time Out 

City fell to defeat at Barnsley on the opening day of the new campaign, despite a Jess Bate rocket into the top corner ten minutes from time.  

Barnsley clinched their 3-1 victory by taking the game away from City in injury time.  

Sutton Coldfield beat Stourbridge 4-2 at The Dominos Arena in their first game of the new season. 

 On Tuesday evening, they also welcomed Aston Villa Academy to The Dominos Arena in the FA Women’s National League Cup but fell to a heavy 6-0 defeat at the hands of the Villans.  

Last Season 

The Royals finished 8th in the FA Women’s National League Division One Midlands, two places above City, and registered 8 wins, 1 draw, and 13 defeats.  

Previous Meetings 

Back in October, the two sides played out a pulsating 3-3 draw at the Domino’s Arena.  

The Royals went into the break two goals to the good thanks to strikes from Eva Cassidy and Chloe Finn.  

Leah Ritson pulled a goal back in the 65th minute for City to spark a goal flurry. Five minutes later, Niamh Deasy restored the hosts' two-goal advantage, but two goals in five minutes from Olivia Mitcham secured a hard-earned point for the visitors. 

In the reverse fixture back in March, City let slip a two-goal lead at Sixways against a stubborn Sutton Coldfield Town.  

Annie Highway and Keeley Crew sent City two goals to the good, but were pegged back before the break thanks to goals from Millie Kirk and Freya Smith.  

The Royals secured the three points in the final minutes before full-time thanks to a Da’Casto strike.
