Currie Chieftains 2nd XV Announced National Champions!

Back in 2014, there was a genuine fear that the Club would not be able to raise a 2nd team due to a lack of players. Thanks to the sterling effort of our coaches over the years and in particular Ally Donaldson and Tom Hutchinson who have been outstanding all season, this is no longer the case and our A Team demonstrated this with a brilliant win against an Ayr side littered with Super 6 players and determined to avenge their defeat at Millbrae back in January.

12-0 down after 20 minutes, our As ably led all season by Jack Peters and Sam Leto responded with some outstanding rugby to record a 38-17 final result. This leaves us top of the pile, unbeaten in both the Inter City and Inter City Stage 2 leagues and with only a game against Stirling Wolves to complete an outstanding unbeaten season.

Sadly I was not there to see it but from all accounts everyone contributed on another great day in Chieftains history. Special mention to Andrew Hogarth, Kyle Borthwick, Ross Morrison and Andrew McCall for excellent games and making the Club very proud.
